Six Strategic Insights-Networking at ALA

Last week, I attended the American Library Association (ALA) conference in Philadelphia to speak at a pre-conference conference, Library Insights Summit. Then, I attended the ALA conference, concentrating on the exhibitor’s hall where publishers display current and forthcoming titles. I signed books at the IBPA booth (Independent Book Sellers Association).

I signed NOT EXTINCT copies for 30 minutes in the IBPA booth. They scanned the badges of everyone who received a book, which means in a couple weeks I’ll receive the contact information for follow-ups.

For paid subscribers to Indie Kids Books, I have six strategic insights. I was hoping to find places where my books might find additional income streams, small niches in the book marketing landscape that could increase my bottom line. There are six things I’ll be following up on to get more reviews and to sell more ebooks, hardcovers, and translated books.

Indie Kids Books is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
