Articles & Podcasts about Self-Publishing Children’s Books
In support of the Kickstarter, I’ve been out and about on the internet talking about how to successfully self-publish children’s books. What fun it’s been! I think you’ll learn something different in each podcast or article.
1) Podcast interview: The Creative Penn, Writing, Self-Publishing and Marketing. Such a delight to talk with the amazing Joanna Penn. (You’ll get to hear my voice!)
2) Lulu Blog article: Maximizing Self‑Published Children’s Books Sales: A Guide to Direct Sales for Indie Authors I use Lulu POD as the backend of my Shopify store.
3) Podcast interview on Kirsten Williams Larson’s Nonfiction Kidlit Craft Conversations. Such a great conversation with Kirsten. I highly recommend her book on writing nonfiction for kids, Reimagining Your Nonfiction Picture Book.
4) Podcast interview on Sharon Skinner’s Coaching Kidlit podcast, Steps for Self-Publishing Success with Guest Darcy Pattison.
(I haven’t listened to myself on any of these—it just seems weird. Tell me if I sounded OK!)
For this Kickstarter, I set a modest goal of $500, and that was met the first day. It’s been a 21 day Kickstarter. They recommend 30 days, but that feels forever to me, so I opted for a shorter one. Right now on Saturday morning as I write this, it’s at $2700, with 65 backers.
I’d love to end at 70 backers and $3000. Could you share this post with someone?
