Today is another answer-a-subscriber question day, this time about selling your books to libraries. We’ll look at essential design elements, distribution, and marketing.

Among other fascinating details, Market Reports says: “Public and private libraries globally purchased over 210 million children’s titles in 2024…Library systems in the USA managed over 9,200 public branches, collectively circulating 310 million children’s books annually.” It’s a huge market for your books!

Caroline S. asked: “…you mentioned certain items that libraries liked to see in books they acquire. (Maybe things like reading levels) What are they, and are they really needed? I have an upcoming book (self-published) that I’d like to market to libraries.”

Let’s dig in to library marketing!
