For the last three years, I’ve been writing this blog, IndieKidsBooks.com. This summer, I gathered up all the articles, added to them, rearranged them, and the result is PUBLISH: Find Success Self-Publishing Your Children’s Book. It will launch on January 6 on Amazon and across the book distribution network.
But today, you can preorder the book—and receive it about eight weeks early—through my Kickstarter campaign. Why Kickstarter? Read this blog post.
What to Expect
When you support a Kickstarter campaign, you must first register for a Kickstarter account. They will need a credit card number so they can charge it to pay for the books you choose.
Then, you’ll be able to read through the campaign to see the Rewards choices. Basically, you can order one ebook all the way up to ordering 5 paperback books. An option is to add a consultation on a book manuscript or book publishing program.
It’s a plain vanilla campaign, without the bells and whistles appropriate for a fantasy YA novel, things like gilded covers and spray painted edges. Because this book is a nonfiction how-to book, it doesn’t lend itself to those things. Instead, you’ll learn more about self-publishing a children’s book than you thought you could!
Here’s a quote from author Jodi McKay who recently read an Advance Reader Copy.
Wow is the first word that comes to mind! PUBLISH: Find Surprising Success Self-Publishing Children's Books, is a must-read for those seeking a strong foundation in all aspects of writing and self-publishing books for children. It's set up in a "From start to finish" type of format and explains, in depth, each step of building a successful small business. Publish, is a treasure trove of information that will help new and experienced authors and illustrators make the best decisions for their self-publishing business.
