This compilation of information is tremendously valuable. I searched Indiekids and couldn't find a post specifically about hiring an illustrator for cover art only. I wonder if you might consider the topic for a future post. While I know your posts above about finding and contracting with an illustrator are relevant, a focused look at covers for MG & YA novels would be helpful. Thank you.

Thanks! Great idea. Lots of what I do for covers is the same as choosing a picture book illustrator. But you are right that there are variations on it.

Thank you, thank you, for doing this for us. It's been on my list for an entire year. Now to find where to keep it so that I can get right to it.

I'll pin it to the top of my blog so it's easy to find!

Thank you, Darcy! This resource is exactly what I've been looking for. I actually logged in today determined to make this collection of resources for myself. So glad you did it!! One thing I'm not seeing is your articles on 'getting your book reviewed' (kirkus, etc.).

Melissa, reviews are a matter of who is your audience, and where to spend your marketing money. This blog article might help: https://www.indiekidsbooks.com/p/where-should-you-spend-your-marketing
